Sofie and Noah's 8th Birthday (Plus Piano Recital)

Guess who turned 8 years old?!  Sofie and Noah!
They were so happy and excited for their bday.
Last picture of them being 7.  😢😁  Mixed emotions for me.
We set up for their birthday...As you can see, they both got Panda bears.
They were very happy to both have Pandas!

They got cards from family.  💛

And some money.  :)

Noah was excited about his Minecraft math book!  He also got the game Flipside, Arcade Snap Circuit, Keva contraption wood planks, a Transformer, remote control car and 2x2 Rubik's cube.  They both got new T-shirts and an animal guess who game.
Sofie loved her new bean bag chair!  She also got another little panda, a purple "alive" panda, makeup, a whiteboard, and a brush.

Kira got pink yarn and white yarn for her half birthday gift.  Isak received a junior size football.
They requested waffles for breakfast.

After the presents and breakfast, we quickly got ready for their first birthday party!  Here we go, "Let's Get Wild!"
Here's the decorations...

Kira created this game.  Pin the hat on the animals.  It was hit.
The party began at 11 am and ended at 1 pm.  It was actually pretty fun and only about 10 minutes that were super chaotic and overwhelming!  :)

Who came?  Dominick and Gia (twins), Cana and Braham (neighbors and siblings), Kush, Carter, Brooklynn, Zuri.  8 kids total, plus Sofie and Noah.

The boys started upstairs with Nels and Isak.  They did an animal facts scavenger hunt and count the pandas and bears.

Downstairs, the girls used paint markers to color wood animals with a magnet on the back.  They also decorated a white sack and picked out their pop it party favors.

Here's Noah doing the scavenger hunt.
Then we switched.  So here's the boys painting.

We also played the Suitcase game!  I did this game at my 8th bday party and loved it...so I had them do it too.  :)
2 teams...boys vs girls.  Each person did the following...eat a starburst, pop a balloon, do the action that was on the paper inside of the balloon...example: swing like a monkey, hop like a bunny...do the action to the suitcase.  Then put something on from the suitcase, like an oven mitt, tie, life jacket, scarf, etc.  And then run back to the end of the line.  The game ended when all of the items were gone from the suitcase.  I think they had fun.  I had fun watching them. :)
Here's Noah with his best friend Dominick...
Boys getting ready to play...
All dressed up after the game:

Then the  kids played with hula hoops, bubbles and pool noodles.  I had cut the pool noodles in half to use as paddles to keep the balloons up...but the kids used them as swords instead!  Haha!  I didn't see that one coming!

For lunch, we did sandwiches.  Peanut butter, Nutella, jam and toppings.  The kids made animals out of the sandwiches.  I loved seeing what the kids came up with!

Then we played pin the hat on the animal.

Opened presents.
Then the kids just played outside until the parents came to get them.  It turned out pretty well!
Here's Sofie with her best friend, Brooklynn.

She found a spot for her bean bag chair.  That's her new shirt too.
We went to Red Robin for dinner!
Noah was sad about something...But he was ok after a minute or two.  S&N loved the mac and cheese.  I got the Banzai burger.  Isak go the burger with an egg and bacon.  He ate most of it too! Then we went home and changed our clothes quickly to get ready for Isak and Kira's piano recital!
We made it!  It was at St. Paul's Episcopal church.

Isak and Kira both performed excellently!

I'm very proud of their progress on the piano.

We stopped at two Dunkin' Donuts to find donuts for Noah.  The second Dunkin' donuts had just what we needed.  Donut holes and a white and a chocolate donut.  We came home and decorated the cakes.

Here's Sofie with her panda cake...layers of chocolate cake and mint ice cream with whip cream all over for frosting.
Noah's donut cake.
Happy 8 year olds!!

We lit the candles, sang and they blew out the candles.

We ate the cake and donuts.  Then we cleaned up and went to bed!!  Wonderful day!
Some pics of after birthday fun.  Keva planks...I built the flower.  It was so fun!
Snap circuits.  Noah loves it!
Makeup with Sofie.
We love our Sofie and Noah.  They bring so much love and joy and fun to our home.
A little about Sofie:
She is my sunshine.  She is full of love, laughter, fun and kindness.  She's easy to please and be around.  She likes a variety of foods and is willing to try new foods.  She does change her mind a lot.  :)
She just learned to ride her bike with 2 wheels, yay!  She loves pandas.  She loves to create things, especially with trash.  :)  She's sensitive to others and helps to bring peace and joy to our home.  She loves to play games and play with everyone in our family.  Also, she is a cute dancer!  She wears 6 to 6x clothes and wears a size 13 shoe.

A little about Noah:
Noah loves math and has learned multiplication and division at home just because he wanted to know it.  He can write his name and Sofie's name in cursive.  He recently learned to ride a two wheel scooter.  Yay!  He struggles with his big emotions, but has improved so much in this area.  He gives the best big hugs and says, "I infinity love you!"  He definitely has a sweet, charming side.  He loves to eat quesadillas, corn dogs, mac and cheese, bagels.  He loves all of his bears and Yoshi, raccoon, monkeys and more stuffed animals.  He always has a stuffed animal in his backpack to go to school.  He wears 4T shorts, pants and shirts.  Size 11 shoe.

I love Sofie and Noah's friendship with each other too.  It's been so fun to watch them learn and grow!  I hope 8 is Great!
