Door Country, WI - Day 1

We love Door County, WI and I'm so thankful we were able to spend a few days there this summer.  We left August 5th.  Poor Noah had a terrible cough.  So before we left, Nels took him to the doctor.  He has the croup cough.  :(  Thankfully, he slept a lot on the drive up, so that was good.

On part of the six hour drive, we all listened to "Ramona the Pest" by Beverly Cleary.  So funny.  We all enjoyed it.  We stopped somewhere in Wisconsin for lunch.  The kids got Wendy's and I got an amazing steak quesadilla at Qdoba.  Poor Noah coughed and coughed in the restaurant.  Kind of embarrassing with COVID going around.  But we did our best to stay at our table and not move around a lot.

We stopped at the Piggly Wiggly for groceries.  Then we went to the cottage, Urskogen.  We unpacked and got settled.  Isak went on a walk with me to the little beach near the cottage.  To get there, we walked down this steep hill.  Fun to go down, but hard to go back up.  My legs were sore afterwards!  But I'm glad we did it.  I enjoyed my time with Isak.
We watched the sunset and the water.
We threw rocks, stacked rocks and took pictures of rocks.  😊

Someone else had built this tall rock tower.

Then back to the cottage for dinner and ice cream.  We also started watching Pirates of the Caribbean.
Here's the cottage in the evening.  Just idyllic.
